Corrin Pawl-Castanon (Corrin Sade) is an emerging multi-media artist and community builder from Grand Rapids and currently resides in Kalamazoo. Her work highlights themes of surrealism, self-exploration and healing within community and nature. This year she has broken into the public art and mural world as a student and as an organizer and leader. Earlier this summer she took on a mural apprenticeship for the Pleasant Peninsula Mural Festival in Grand Rapids and then organized and led the Unity Window Painting Project for Brush the Block Mural Festival. You can find her work on Instagram @artbycpc
The Unity Window Painting Project was an initiative by the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo in an effort to bring artists together and celebrate the beauty of community. The muralists were asked to express what togetherness means- whether it’s family, friendship, diversity, support or shared hopes. Together we installed 21 window murals from 20 artists down the Kalamazoo pedestrian mall.
